Chesterfield Beds

A Chesterfield bed has a deep-buttoned, tufted headboard inspired by the classic Chesterfield sofa. Ours are handmade to order in Dewsbury on solid wood frames, in your choice of fabric from Single to Super King, with free delivery across Great Britain.

Not quite right? For tall side wings see wingback beds; for a smooth padded headboard see panel beds.

How to choose a Chesterfield bed

Start with the look you want. A classic Chesterfield bed has buttoned tufting across the whole headboard, while some designs mix button tufting with panel detail or add tall wings. Then decide on fabric: Plush Velvet shows off the buttoning most, and Chenille, Coniston, Naples, Galaxy and Teddy Bouclé give a softer finish. Check the size you need against our UK bed sizes guide, and if you want storage, look for designs offered with a gas-lift ottoman base. Several Chesterfield designs have a matching footboard, so allow for the extra length when you measure the room. Free fabric swatches let you check colour and texture at home before you order.

Frequently asked questions

What makes a bed a Chesterfield bed?

Deep button tufting on the headboard, usually in a diamond pattern, taken from the traditional Chesterfield sofa.

Which Chesterfield bed should I choose?

If you want the traditional look, start with the classic tufted designs. If you want something with a little less tradition, the Imperial adds panel accents, and the Royal Chesterfield Wingback adds tall buttoned wings. Request free swatches to settle the fabric.

Can I get a Chesterfield bed with storage?

Several Chesterfield designs are offered with a gas-lift ottoman base, and the Royal Chesterfield Bed lists optional ottoman gas-lift storage. Check the options on each product page or call 07417 439197 to confirm a design.

What size of room does a Chesterfield bed need?

A Chesterfield bed has a tall tufted headboard and some designs have a matching footboard, so measure the wall and the floor length as well as the mattress size. Our guide to measuring your bedroom shows how.

Is a Chesterfield bed hard to keep clean?

Vacuum the buttoned areas regularly with a soft brush attachment to lift dust from the tufting.

How long does delivery take, and can I return a bed?

Delivery is free across Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales), made by our own team, usually within 3–5 working days. Delivery to Northern Ireland is £90. Returns are free within 14 days if the item is unused, unassembled and in its original packaging, and a faulty item is replaced free or fully refunded. See our returns policy.

What warranty do I get?

Every Eagle Bed comes with a 5-year warranty. See our warranty page for the full terms.

Can I see the fabric before I order?

Yes. We post free fabric swatches so you can check colour and texture in your own light. Request free swatches.
