A divan bed is an upholstered base that supports your mattress, usually paired with a matching headboard. Ours are handmade to order in Dewsbury on solid wood frames, with pull-out drawers or gas lift ottoman storage, and delivered free across Great Britain.

Which type of divan?

• Divan with drawers — drawers built into the base for everyday items. See the Divan Storage Base with Drawers and our storage beds with drawers.
• Ottoman divan — the platform lifts on gas struts for storage under the whole bed. See the Ottoman Gas Lift Divan Base (end lift) and the Side Lift Ottoman Storage Base.

Measuring up

Measure the wall the bed will sit against and the floor space around it. Drawers need clear floor in front of them to open; an ottoman lid needs clear height above the bed.

Frequently asked questions

Do divan beds come with a headboard?

Divan bases can be ordered on their own, or as a set with a matching upholstered headboard — check each product page. You can also choose a separate headboard from our headboards collection.

Divan with drawers or ottoman?

Drawers are easier for things you use every day. An ottoman gives more space for bulky items such as duvets and suitcases, but needs room above the bed to open.

How long does delivery take, and can I return a bed?

Delivery is free across Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales), made by our own team, usually within 3–5 working days. Delivery to Northern Ireland is £90. Returns are free within 14 days if the item is unused, unassembled and in its original packaging, and a faulty item is replaced free or fully refunded. See our returns policy.
